L’Agence spatiale canadienne prévoit l’octroi de 4 millions de dollars en subventions sur une période de 8 ans. La date butoir pour déposer votre demande est le 16 décembre 2022.

L’Agence spatiale canadienne (ASC) est fière d’annoncer le lancement del’initiative« Encourager la collaboration industrie/université avec le financement de l’ASC pour la formation de personnel hautement qualifié (ECIU) ». Cette nouvelle opportunité vise à octroyer des subventions à l’appui de projets de recherche se déroulant dans les universités canadiennes et ayant déjà reçu une subvention dans le cadre du programme de Subventions Alliance du CRSNG. Ultimement, cette initiative cherche à supporter les projets de recherche qui contribueront au développement de nouvelles notions scientifiques et technologiques spatiales, tout en permettant à un plus grand nombre d’étudiants du premier, deuxième et troisième cycles d’acquérir de l’expérience concrète en industrie.
L’ASC prévoit attribuer un total de 4 millions de dollars en subventions sur une période de 8 ans, en commençant avec 500 000 $ octroyés d’ici mars 2023. L’ASC acceptera des propositions jusqu’à l’année 2025. Plusieurs rondes d’évaluations auront lieu durant cette période. Chaque projet pourrait être éligible à recevoir un montant annuel égal à celui octroyé par le programme Subventions Alliance du CRSNG pour le même projet, jusqu’à concurrence de 100 000 $ par année, et ce, pour un projet d’une durée maximum de 5 ans.
Pour être admissibles, les projets doivent démontrer un lien avec l’une des priorités identifiées dans la Stratégie spatiale pour le Canada ou dans la nouvelle Stratégie canadienne de l’observation de la Terre par satellite, ou être en lien avec la recherche sur la technologie quantique liée au secteur spatial. L’ASC pourrait prioriser les projets portant sur l’une des disciplines de recherche suivantes : la technologie quantique liée au secteur spatial, l’observation de la Terre par satellite pour lutter contre les changements climatiques, le développement de technologies innovatrices dans le domaine spatial (incluant la robotique), l’alimentation dans l’espace lointain, la santé dans l’espace lointain, et l’acquisition de connaissances sur la météo spatiale.
Vous avez jusqu’au 16 décembre 2022 pour soumettre une demande dans le cadre de la première ronde d’évaluations.

The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is proud to announce the launch of Enhancing Industry/University Collaboration with CSA Funding for Highly Qualified Personnel Training (EIUC). This new opportunity aims to support research projects at Canadian universities for a project that has received a grant under the NSERC – Alliance Grants Program. Ultimately, this initiative seeks to support research projects that will contribute to the development of new scientific knowledge and space technologies, while making it possible for a larger number of students (undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate) to acquire hands-on experience in an industry setting.
The CSA plans to award a total of $4M in grants over a period of 8 years, starting with $500k by March 2023. The CSA will continue to receive proposals until the year 2025 with several evaluation rounds throughout. Each project could be eligible to receive a yearly amount matching the grant received yearly from the NSERC Alliance program, up to $100,000 per year for a maximum duration of 5 years.
To be eligible, projects must demonstrate their link to one of the priorities identified in Space Strategy for Canada or the recently announced Canada’s Strategy for Satellite Earth Observation, or must further the research in the field of quantum technology in the space sector. The CSA may to prioritize projects related to the following research disciplines: quantum technology in the space sector, adapting to climate change with space-based data, innovative technology in the space sector including advanced robotics, deep space food, deep space health and understanding space weather.
You have until December 16, 2022 to submit your application to be considered in the first round of funding.
